The cottage in which we had the pleasure of staying for the next three days was just right. It was both quaint and comfortable.
I stayed in this room upstairs in the bed closest to the camera view.
There were all kinds of plants surrounding the cottage that added to the beauty of the property and many of the flowers had very pleasant scents!
The whole area was good for the body, mind and spirit!
Thanks to two generous friends I found myself flying to Portland Maine on May 30th. It was an early morning flight and the plane rose with sun as we left Tampa International.
We had a 3 hr. layover in New York and then it was on to Maine.
The air travel was smooth and uneventful and after landing in Portland I knew that most of the future movement would be by boat and golf cart.
Upon arrival in Portland we took a harrowing cab ride courtesy of an energetic Somali man and eventually made it to the ferry terminal. But not before feasting on an “Italian” featured in the image below!

Or destination for the weekend was a comfy little cottage on the South West coast of Great Diamond Island. More about that tomorrow!
The bees have had the top bar to themselves all Winter and Spring so today I decided to take a peek inside their operation.
They were very calm and I was able to harvest a small portion of their honey stores. The 16 minute video below chronicles what I found!
Today I was placing my Squirrel box trap when I noticed a small pile of ivory colored grains. It took a few moment of observation for me to understand what it was but the presence of ants clued me in!
I decided it was a peanut the ants had dismantled to carry away to their mound!
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
(Proverbs 6:6-8)
Our Creator invites us in His inspired word to learn from the ant. We are not to wait around for an overseer, ruler or guide to motivate us to be faithful in our work. We are to do as the ant and serve right were we are in the moment as God has called us to.
How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth. He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. What our Father has for us is always Best!
These miserable little owl have made it a long way. You can see the first to hatch has been getting the lion’s share of the food and the last or the weakest is getting very little food and is quite puny. From the time they were in their eggs everything has been out to get them. Squirrels, other birds and even bees looking for a new home.
This is not underserved. As I have observed these little rapture I have come to the conclusion that though they are small they are fearsome. They are the stuff of nightmares for any little creature sleeping in the yards of our neighborhood. The come silently at night with their stabbing hooked talons and snatch you away to the veracious beaks of their insatiable young.
They will soon be looking for territories of their own and start the process over.

When you first show up they take interest after they have determined you have nothing edible they wander off perturbed.
On this beautiful day at 10:00 am Granddad was whisked away from his 95 year old earthen vessel.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. He has passed from death unto life.

He was surrounded by his family in these last days and we celebrate his new life in the Heavenly Kingdom with God our Father.
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. I can't believe that no one else commented on this Video ! It is titled "Inverness Poultry Show, and that part of it was a pretty poor attempt. A bit of Audio with some of the Exhibitors, and the Judges would have been nice. Actually showing some of the Division Winners would have been nice, and maybe getting a few words from the Winners.....but Nooooo ! You chose to give us nearly as much time of senseless driving in the rain, bushes bushes bushes, more bushes than chickens !! The end really knocked me out, and NOT in a good way ! You have HORRIBLE eating habits, could you have packed any more starches on that plate ? Were you actually thinking of getting some of the corn ? I'm just wasting my time. This was pretty pathetic, i hope youv'e gotten better after 6 yrs, or maybe your camera broke and you never Filmed another thing ! YAY !!
The internet is such a strange place but it can’t help it I guess cause we humans are strange.
