The Yearling Trail.

The Yearling Trail

Went on another road trip this time destination The Yearling Trail followed by the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park. It was a wonderful step back in time!

The trail was exciting with a very diverse landscape and I had to turn back to soon. I will soon visit again and give it the attention it deserves!

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park

The Rawlings home was great! A real slice of life from the 1930's.

It was deserted Monday afternoon and after paying the $3 parking fee we wandered around all by ourselves and enjoyed the grounds as if we were the only people on the planet. The home and buildings were not accessible but you could look through the screen doors and see the old time decor. We will return some day near the weekend for the tour.

Road Trip Southwest Florida!

Road Trip South Central Florida

Took a little road trip through some quaint little towns along the highways of Southwestern  Florida. There are so many lovely rural roads to explore!

400 miles round trip !

Road Trip South Central Florida

It is always fun to find a local place to eat! The mom and pops are the best and are farther and fewer between in today's day and age. Contreras combination meal!

Old Florida is disappearing quickly so if you want to see what was before there are only walmarts for scenery you better get out there now.

Trilby Trip

Trilby Trip

I went on a little road trip to Trilby to revisit some hills I became acquainted with years ago on a Coast to Coast for Christ bicycle adventure organized by Kevin Miller. I think they still have yearly trips.

There are many picturesque back roads in Florida to explore. This area has quite a few.

Right in the middle of this route is a little restaurant by the name of  "The Black Eyed Pea" that offers great home cooked food. You can tell that many of the locals gather there to fellowship which makes it an even more attractive place to visit. The food is great if you ask me!

I had the Pork Chop special this time. One fried one grilled!

Get out there and explore it yourself with family and friends why don't you? It is not that far away and it will time well spent enjoying life together.
