Sun and Not So Fun Traffic Jam.

Went to Sun and Fun and waited in traffic for one and a half hours before turning around and finding a different entrance. If we had not been eligible to park in the yellow volunteer parking lot we would have probably never made it!

As far as the eye could see.

We finally made it and strolled around the planes.

 

If you have been to one you have been to them all. Sun and Fun is really about the camaraderie of pilots and plane owners. Although I would love to be a pilot and plane owner alas I am a lazy un-ambitious lump of flesh so one Sun and Fun would have been quite enough.

Daytona Beach Shores

On a recent business excursion I had the pleasure of wandering the Daytona Beach Shores area here in Florida. I stayed over night in the Hawaiian Inn. It is currently being renovated but has a very old time feel that I really liked. One of the best things about the inn is vehicle access to beach right next door.

Driving along the beach is a real pleasure!

The next morning I was up at the crack of dawn to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic!

 

There were more seagulls than I have ever seen in one place.

It was a cool clear morning and a joy just to stand on the shore.

Mr. Billy goes to the Daytona International Speedway

I know so very little about Nascar but now I know a little more.

Steve Waid of www.motorsportsunplugged.com gave me a tour of the track and it is an amazing place. On the drive over I asked him about his latest endeavor.

The track is an impressive place and from the pit area you can hear the roar of the engines! Plug in some earphones and close your eyes.

I felt like a member of the media for a day with all the credentials I had in hand.

Cedar Key

 

Went back to Cedar Key to visit the Davis family with their son in law. Mike Davis is a Clam man and all around gather of good things from the gulf. We had a really great time!

Tampa Bay Downs

This morning I went to the horse track with a couple of friends who like to record images. It was a cool misty morning and the race horses were chugging their way around the track to warm up for the days races. It was a lovely sight!

Fort Desoto Morning

I went to Fort Desoto this morning and it was a glorious day. I am going to out a few pictures here now but soon I will have a video and more pictures on this same post I hope.

There were a couple of friendly Gents taking off right from the beach. Boy would I love to do this!

A Ride Downtown!

I cruised down Bayshore into the the city this afternoon. It was a bright clear day.


The tide was just right to see what filthy people the citizens of Tampa are.


Poor Spongebob Square pants. He is up to his neck in rubbish.


This water fountain is cooled.


Tampa is a puny little place but that is a whole lot better than a giant bustling place. I just wish all the politicians would be content with what we have and stop all the usual drivel about how great we are.
