Happy Place
It does not look like much and it really is not much but that makes it all the sweeter. The weather this week and come to think of it for the last two weeks has been glorious. I was chilly in the shade so I got to wrap up in a wool blanket while reading my latest book of interest.
Macdonald writes to his wife to be October 24, 1848
" Is love a beautiful thing, dearest? You and I love: but who created love? Let us ask him to purify our love and make it stronger and more real and more self-denying. I want to love you for ever so that, though there is not marrying ........ in heaven, we may see each other there as the best beloved. Oh Louisa, is it not true that our life is a growing unto life, and our death is a being born - our true birth? If there is anything beautiful in this our dreamy life shall in not shine forth in glory in the bright waking consciousness of heaven? And in our life together, my dear dear Louisa, if it please God thea we should pass any part of our life together here, shall it not still shine when the cloud in over my head? I may see the light shining from your face, and when darkness is around you, you may see the light on mine, and thus we shall take courage. But we can only expect to have this light within us and on our faces - we can only expect to be a blessing to each other - by doing that which is right......."

Nice Week!
It has been a beautiful week thus far! Delicious food chilly temperatures fire in the fireplace!
There are two new little people on the planet whom I met this week. They both got a loving squeeze from one of the universe's top baby inspectors (that would be my mother for those of you not familiar).

Today, Thursday is a proper cool day! I shall continue to enjoy my week!
This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118;24

Coach Gone Coastal
Many times when I am out in the backyard sawing and banging around I hear what sounds like an echo not fifty feet to the East.Turn out their is an artist in residence.
My neighbor former high school coach is pursuing his passion for art and in a way that fascinates. He repurposes all kinds of materials and transforms them into whimsical, colorful and desirable works of art.

The materials he uses can be just as fascinating as the subjects he chooses and his enthusiasm for his craft is contagious. He is just getting started and what a start it is!
His subjects all have a quirky story behind them. Either personal or steeped in local history a winning combination in my book.
Thank you Coach Ray for sharing your art much success to you!

TECO Energy Osprey Excluder
Tampa Electric paid a visit to the neighborhood today. For the last two years we have a two attempts by a pair of pairs of Ospreys to construct a nest atop a power pole. This was very entertaining but they were never able to get enough material to make their nest a success. I do not know how TECO became involved but it was interesting to watch them in action.
Ospreys who built nests at the tops of power poles run the risk of having their work and possibly their offspring go up in flames so Tampa Electric’s arrival was timely. I am disappointed with the solution they chose but I understand the necessity of keeping the lines clear. Below is a video illustrating what can happen when rain saturates a nest that is constructed in a manner that brings it into contact with multiple wires.
Here is the approach they took in our neighborhood.
They did a fine job just wish they would have put the effort into erecting a nesting platform.
It will be interesting to see how long these two stick around. Below are a couple image depicting what I hoped they would do.

Ordering Verizon Fios
My dealings with verizon in the past have shown me that they are deceptive and greedy but they are the only viable alternative. Below is the audio of the ordering process.
It has been a couple weeks and I sit here typing the fiber optic cable is still laying on the grass unburied.

Hullabaloo Modifications
I have been “improving” the canoe this last couple of weeks.
I have made many trips to Fiberglass Coatings Inc. in St. Petersburg Florida and spent twice the budget on foam and fiberglass.
I started by making a form in which to pour the Urethane foam.
I capped it off with a wooded transom.
Started mixing, pouring, cutting, rasping and sanding and at long last am ready for part two the fiberglassing. Stay tuned for certain disaster!
