Top Bar Hive Modification
My top bar hive is a special case since the colony I placed in it was well established in a bird house to begin with. I had to insert the entire bird house into one end so I cut a hole in the back to allow easier access to the bars. Enjoy Jacob and Julia!

Top Bar Hive Placed.
Last night we moved the Top Bar Hive into it’s new home in the backyard.This afternoon the bees were merrily settling and undoing the damage I caused during the transfer.
Later I ate this delicious meal!
God is so good!

Bee Hive Relocated To Top Bar!
I relocated the Bees in the bird house today. It was anything but smooth. The bees were more than patient with me and I was only stung about five times. The one one my upper eye lid was the most uncomfortable.
The bees are beautiful and their work never ceases to amaze me! The video below will show you almost the entire relocation process. I am very relieved to have them in the Top Bar Hive and hope they do well with all the new space they have to grow.
They began to use their new front door very quickly and this gives me hope they will survive. Time will tell!

Down to making the bars for the interior and then I gotta figure a way to get my bees into this thing without any undue pain and suffering.

Top Bar Bee Hive Construction 1
I recently discovered top bar bee hives on the internet and after watching Mike’s (dragonhlm) youtube series on the subject was inspired to use some scrap wood to make one.
Here is the shell I will upload more images after I have the roof and legs on!
