The Thief and the Scion

The Thief and the Scion.

Recently while fishing a fellow human decided for their own enrichment to visit a little anarchy on property where the Scion XB was parked and waiting for our return. Maybe $10 was stolen from the console and the thief went on their miserable way to spread a little bit of chaos in another part of the county.

I made a police report just to record the incident in the anoles of  civilized society and then started making calls to find out how much restoring order to the universe would cost. Average price for repairs was pretty consistent. $310 to for glass and installation with the first available appointment after the weekend.

Too much money I have no doubt but that what you pay when businesses have payroll taxes, income, business license fees, workers compensation taxes and insurance of all kinds being extracted by the world's largest bureaucracy.

There is always a work around so I set about trying to locate a replacement from a salvage yard. If I do the work myself and get the glass at much reduced price I could save huge money. The second salvage yard I call has the glass I need at a great price! Gagel's auto parts inc. in Riverview has one on the self and uncharacteristically chipper scrap yard employ tells me on the other end of the line.

The Thief and the Scion.

It even came included with the former vehicles vinyl lettering and tint film. Halleluyah
with a little scrapping and peeling the GoBox will be back to it's rightful self. the glass was a mere $38 dollars. This means that if I can install it myself the total cost will be Just over $55 dollars! The following video will reveal the final result of the whole adventure!

Unbeatablesale Inc.

A Haws replacement rose set is needed. To the internet, try amazon first. There is one!
Amazon has one but the shipping is high, it is not prime and is fulfilled by a marketplace vender named unbeatable sale. Who is going to beat amazon’s price $19.07 shipped? Order button clicked.
An hour and a half later ………….. You know that item cannot cost more than $2.00 to manufacture. There has to be a better price. Search again for a different vendor.
That is much better, about $6 cheaper. Let’s go back and cancel the order from amazon. Cancel order button clicked. An email is sent to the unbeatablesales. An automated reply is sent. The order is not cancelled. A day later the amazon cancel button is still active and a second cancel request is sent. Another automated reply. Take a closer look at unbeatablesale inc. policy page.
Once an order is received it cannot be cancelled. How can this be? amazon has a policy that gives the option to cancel if the item has not been shipped. unbeatable sale has a policy that is in direct conflict with amazon’s and yet they are allowed to sell in the market place.
Time to leave a seller review!
Review left, resigned to paying more than necessary.
The phone rings the next day!
more than happy to issue a full refund……………the system will not allow me to proceed with the full refund while your feedback is present………….we sent you an email with instructions on how to remove the feedback!
Wow these jokers are slick. check email.
Well lookie there, what clear and concise instructions. If they are followed there is the promise of a full refund and you get to keep the item!
Do you delete your review warning your fellow citizens of policy conflict or remove it and keep the item at no charge?
Package arrives.
Wow, it is from Bosmere where I wanted to buy the item at the lower price of $12.54 shipped, not $19.07 shipped. That is over $6.00 more to have unbeatablesale inc. place the order for you using their obnoxious process.
The real offence here is amazon and other online retailers continuing to allow another business to have a policy that makes their own good policy invalid while still representing the item as having the protection of that policy. It is easy to see how it generates big profits but it is an offence to the customer.
Stay savvy citizen. The less we fall for these kinds inefficient business practices the stronger our nation and economy will become.

Cathie Mckenzie Did Not Like My Video

I just read a comment made today of a video I uploaded back in 2008 called Inverness Poultry Show. Here is what she wanted me to know:

Cathie Mckenzie 4 hours ago

I can't believe that no one else commented on this Video ! It is titled "Inverness Poultry Show, and that part of it was a pretty poor attempt. A bit of Audio with some of the Exhibitors, and the Judges would have been nice. Actually showing some of the Division Winners would have been nice, and maybe getting a few words from the Winners.....but Nooooo ! You chose to give us nearly as much time of senseless driving in the rain, bushes bushes bushes, more bushes than chickens !! The end really knocked me out, and NOT in a good way ! You have HORRIBLE eating habits, could you have packed any more starches on that plate ? Were you actually thinking of getting some of the corn ? I'm just wasting my time. This was pretty pathetic, i hope youv'e gotten better after 6 yrs, or maybe your camera broke and you never Filmed another thing ! YAY !!

The internet is such a strange place but it can’t help it I guess cause we humans are strange.

Cathie from Illinois describes herself thusly

Retired Psychiatric RN,Mom,Grama,Great Grama,Aunt,Great Aunt, and Animal Lover. What else do you need to know. I'm a normal lady, love life, some people, wish I was a better Artist.

I have never felt so despised but it is nice to know she is concerned about my health. Cathie God bless you and happy Easter!

The Verizon Fios experience.

A few months ago my brother came to stay temporarily in the back room of our family’s residence. He always has pay television wherever he goes so he called Verizon and had fios installed. They came out and installed copious amounts of cable and equipment and presto my brother could watch television on more channels than you care see.

Within a couple of months my brother found that Verizon was charging for much more that he ordered. He was receiving bills for $150.00. Forty dollars of this bill was for fiber optic internet access which he did not want, had not requested, and had no computer to access it with. He called and requested they cancel it.

Here is where I have the pleasure of becoming a part of the misery. I have never paid a dime for TV and have no plans to ever do so. I do however use the internet and have been satisfied for some years with Verizon’s DSL. I was paying $17.99 a month ($215.88 per year which is still to expensive). When my brother canceled the fios internet service on his separate account and bamo my DSL no longer functioned. I called more than 12 times the first day and spoke with as many people both in the U.S. and abroad and got nothing but sales pitches and run around. What I wanted was to call once, inform them of the error, and have my DSL restored so that I could get on with my business and they could collect their $17.99 a month. What I discovered is the company’s seeming plan to deny DSL service to any address with a fiber optic cable running onto the property. I was also told that we no longer were capable of getting any service including phone service through the conventional copper wire that we are using even as I type this message. When I told them the facts of the matter they denied that it was the case and assured me things were just as they stated. It amazes the freedoms we forfeit all in the name of entertainment when we do business with immoral company's such as verizon. In the end we only have ourselves to blame for putting up with outrageous prices for the sake of "convenience".

My brother has canceled all Verizon services.

Questions that came to mind during the life wasted dealing with Verizon?

Why does Verizon not offer fiber optic internet at a lower speed and reduced price?

Does Verizon want customers to be forced to pay for more services than they require at prices that are extravagant?

What will happen to the citizenry of any community served by Verizon when they complete their lock on all communication to and from each residence?
