Fellowship

It was grey and the rain feel off an on for hours this evening. I like the rain but even if I did not I was at a place that would warm and inviting no matter the weather. I was gathered with my church on Davis Islands.

We have a dinner on Wednesday nights and this very Wednesday was no exception. I was there when the doors opened as usual and in no time I was sitting with a plate of meatballs and ravioli. I could not wait to eat. I had not eaten in a while and was giddy about the prospect. I sit at the same table month after month and I never know who might choose to use the same table.

Tonight a young lady who I know, and whose company I thoroughly enjoy, quietly walked over with a piping hot cup of vegetable stew and sat right down at the table, very nice. So many folks that really encourage and motivate me are continually coming and going. I am restless that I will not see them all and say hi and touch them. Jesus is at the center of the fellowship that we the church have at these gatherings. It is His truth and Grace that keeps us in one accord.

After dinner I moved to my second predictable location the front door which is a great place to see all the comings and goings. I am used to being approached by little people whose desire is to be thrown high into the air. I threw a few this evening. After thirty minutes of chatting with a few kids and a father or two something really delightful happened. Some of the members of a family who moved months ago suddenly came into view. There is one individual in particular who, for reasons I do not understand, shows me great favor and we had a happy reunion with warm hugs. I ask them to see me again before they leave for the evening and it is agreed. Now I am off to yet another one of my predictable locations.

The pre school building is where it is at. So much life and love in this blessed place. It is a loud night but in league with some of the most Christ like ladies you can hope to meet the little people survive and thrive with only a small amount of spilled blood.

If you want joy give Jesus power in your life. This is done easily by putting your trust in who he claims to be. I know you thinkers have it all figured out but I tell you this, you will not suffer the loss of anything that is best by stopping in this moment and asking Jesus to simply show you what this life is all about. He jumps at the chance to renew the mind of any who are willing to humble themselves and exercise faith in Him.

Romans 10:9-11 (King James Version)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

  1. I really like the bike picture. It reminds me of days gone by. I know I am late in posting my last pictures of the campout but they are up.
