The Pocket Testament League

This was an interesting day today. I have been feeling life quite vividly of late and I find it to be extraordinary. This afternoon I set out to attend a men’s lunch at the Davis islands building where our church meets for fellowship. I rarely go to a men’s lunch mostly because I forget and minimally because it is not a scene I readily take to. Men’s lunches are funny things for many reasons I will not mention for the very real danger of revealing some of my own misguided motivations.

Today we had a speaker from an organization that interested me. It goes by the name of “The Pocket Testament League”. The concept is simple. You know Jesus and you value His Word. You want to share this grand experience with those around you. You carry one of the Pocket Testament League’s gospels of John that has been careful crafted with a clear presentation of God’s Plan for redemption in your pocket. Pray for a meaningful opportunity to pass it along and then hand it to someone when this opportunity presents itself. Great idea! Here is the history of the organization.

Here is what was presented to the men of Davis Islands Baptist Church.
