To Ankuash and back DAY 6

I really enjoy the life my new friends have here in the jungle. The people are completely capable of accomplishing everything they need for their day to day living and the jungle has everything you need to thrive in abundance. I am a little disappointed in my own stamina however and have had to take it easy since the hike in. I have very little appetite and find it difficult to keep hydrated.

To Ankuash Ecuador and Back!
Our host have plenty to eat for us and Don has encouraged us to take what is offered. These are very starchy food and take a bit of getting used to but I am so thankful for the way the women are so attentive to our needs and work very hard to feed 16 extra people now living among them.

I was very cautious about eating or drinking anything in country but with Don’s repeated encouragement I have abandoned my determination to play it safe and it has been rewarding. I will not recommend this to anyone else without the guidance of someone like Don and his excellent local knowledge as I have heard horror stories of the effects of getting ill in remote locations around the world.
Today was our busiest day at the clinic and this gives us all a real sense that we are making a difference for the area communities!

In the evenings we have been sitting together around a white sheet affixed to the wall of the clinic and watching movies. It is a great time to be with the people like one big happy family!

Fireproof was the movie for this evening and the people seemed entertained with plenty of laughs at the appropriate scenes. I am looking forward to tomorrow and the second half of Fireproof.

Ecuador trip brief as recorded by Don Wolfram our missionary guide in Ecuador.
Day 6: Wednesday 02nd- After breakfast we met went to the Clinic and started to do medical work seeing about 145 people this third day, mostly by family group. This was our heaviest day and everyone really pulled together to see everyone efficiently and with the utmost care.
We saw people mostly from the communities of: Kuakash (45 min), Kawa, (1 hr), San Jose (4 hrs), Yampuna (?? Hrs)
We ended clinic about 3:00 and then proceeded to ??teach the community to play baseball. Again the idea was to endorse and build up Octavio’s, Leonardo’s and Mauro’s ministry in that community. That evening, we had an outdoor meeting in Ankuash on the Ecua-volley court in which we showed the 1st half of “Fire Proof” film until we ran out of fuel for the generator.
New Places: Ankuash,
People: Ps. Luis Ankuash from Kuakash and his family of 10, and many, many others
Things & Food: For lunch we had monkey and Pavo (jungle turkey) along with the usual platano verde, papa chino, yucca,
