South Tampa Magazine

This is a little story from the life of the barefooted one (aka Mr. Billy) which I am posting in with the hope of blessing all you faithful clickers!

It all started when I received in the mail a small colorful magazine. This magazine was not like all the others. It was full of adverts but they were very well designed. Most of the advertisements were accompanied by there very own high quality photographs expertly tailored to each clients needs. The graphics as well were in a style that appealed to my own design preferences. Rounded rectangles, large bands of complimentary colors, and next to none of the clutter that the run of the mill mailer is always rife with.

Another very compelling feature of this fine publication is a generous amount of local interest stories. Very thoughtful articles on the history of the areas in which the magazine is distributed as well as interviews with colorful characters who frequent or call the Tampa Bay area home. All in all a great balance of PR and pertinent information that actually has your eye balls perusing ads with a strange sense of wonder.

The reason for my focus on the South Tampa Magazine is the issue above. Months ago there was an advert in the magazine calling on photographers who were interested in working with this fine publication to step up and see if they could be of use. I was sorely tempted to see if I might be a good fit for such a position but life was hectic at the time and I saved the idea for another time. I still had visions of images I had recorded appearing within the pages of this slick little publication I admired so much. That is where this months edition comes to the fore.

As I was thumbing thorough the latest issue looking for quirky stories and business people I might recognize my eyes ran across an image I found very familiar. I then realized there were three images in a series that I just knew I had seen before. Photographers have an uncanny way of remembering even the smallest area of an image they have captured and sure enough there were three images little ole me had snapped many months previous.

Can you believe it? I am seeing my own images published in this sharp little magazine just like I dreamed so long ago! God is such a blesser (i know blesser in not currently accepted by Webster as a legitamate word but it should be).

Anyhow this whole episode has been fun and I have had a pleasant time sharing it with you all! Have a great week!

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 1 Peter 3:8-10
