Who's Business?

The goal is not to get what we want but to want what God gives.
The greatest sorrows in life come when we pursue and attain the things most attractive to us only to have them irretrievably prevent us from experiencing Gods best. Our heavenly Father is quick to lavish us with the most profound joys in this life and it is only our lack of obedience that hinders His daily blessings.

Matthew 6
24"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

God promises us that we will have the necessary provisions for our stay on this earth. He mentions food and clothing the basic needs for daily living. How much more important are the spiritual needs. There are so many things that only He can provide, the unattainable things which we cannot work for or buy or steal. We must rely totally on God for everything that has eternal value.

To "miss out" on the world's offerings is to fully experience the joy of God's provision.

Who are the two people you were born to? Were you given a choice? As we mature we become capable of making choices that will forever alter the course of our lives. God encourages us to make these choices in light of the scripture guided by the Holy Spirit. There are alternative methods of making choices. What do I see with my eyes? What are my emotions? What can compromise can I make to get this now without have to wait?

It is not our business where we live, what we have, who we marry it is God's business. When we grab the wheel and steer life in the directions of our fickle fancies we risk causing life long consequences. Our business is obedience to God?s will for His children as it is so clearly described in His Word. This is life in abundance without the hectic pace and the fear. It is time to recklessly abandon all those carefully laid plans and relinquish all those relentless desires and trust fully in the lavish love of the God remembering that when we finish stumbling through this life we will arrive home to heaven.
