It was a grey and rainy afternoon at Marina Jacks in Sarasota for packet pickup and pasta dinner. Even the best laid plans of Greg Goebel would not stay the wet weather. There were smiling volunteers on hand to welcome all those who made the pilgrimage.
Marathoners are not easily dissuaded from their goals and before long they were all cozy inside the marina catching up and anticipating what would prove to be a delicious meal!
The tables were set and before long the line was forming!
I tell you Marina Jack’s knows how to cook delicious food.
The deserts were excellent as well!
Greg got busy passing out bibs and recognizing all the runners and then Dave Mari herded everyone into the winding stairwell for a group photo.
Fast forward to the next morning early!
Set up begins and within a hour and a half the 26.2 will officially begin!
John Pyle was there bright and early.
