I was enlisted to record the 2012 girl scout father daughter at Steinbrenner Field. I have never been to an even of this type and it was very interesting. It was surprisingly heartwarming to see all the fathers with their little girls and very amusing to see the girls acting their most grown up.
The venue for the even was comfortable and nicely decorated.
I was posted at the entry area to record images of the attendees as the arrived and I was surprised by the high number of people who quickly formed a line to have their photo snapped.
After finishing with the portraits I ventured inside and the place was hopping and I mean that literally. The “little women” were jumping, dashing, dancing and chatting in little groups all over the place. It was surreal, like a miniature cocktail party without the adult beverages. It was cute and terrifying all at the same time.
Every culture had it’s rights of passage and that is what this must be. God bless all fathers with daughters.
