They do a lot better in the cold than they do in the heat. We had record heat this year; one day was 114 and our next door neighbor lost all of her chickens. :( I had a roo and two hens (including my Potpie) in the sink with fans blowing because they were on the brink of death.
How many chickens do you have now? They look very happy in their new digs.
