Back to the reality of a bankrupt economy and a increasingly socialist government! Do not get me wrong I had a lovely holiday season this year. I have so many wonderful friends, I have never been more prosperous and as a child of God the future is bright. I am for sure sick of Christmas though. It is such a lie in so many ways and this year it is especially gaudy with the commercial aspects of the celebration a big disappointment for retailers. I believe that if it were not for the huge selling opportunity that Christmas affords it would be celebrated by a far smaller segment of our credit fueled economy. The Word of God gives us the wonderous account of our Lord's birth but it certianly never mandates or even encourages us to make it an opportunity to spend a bunch of money and eat big meals. There is so much of what we do as a church that is fluff. In so many cases we do what we want to honor the Lord and then count it as obedience we really can be so blindly religious that we miss the truth altogether. We make so many “sacrifices” when all that is called for is simple quiet obedience. One of the first lies a parent gets to tell their children is a jolly old Christmas tale about all their desires being met by an all knowing, omni- present character they cannot see.....no I am not talking about Jesus:)
The food is all to real and for that I am truly grateful! I hope you had a truly wonderful Christmas!
