The Shop

For more than 25 years my father worked for Vaughn Parades Inc. I worked there for about 8 years. For the last several years it has been Festive Floats and has moved from the original warehouses to a new location.
I recently went to the old location in Drew Park to find the old buildings empty and soon to be demolished. Even the Gasparilla building was completely vacant. It was a strange experience to wander around the old dusty buildings in which I had spent so many days of  my life. It was a colorful business to be in building parade floats. The characters I worked with were just as colorful as the floats. Well I am making this post to mark the end of an era. I figures I would try to keep a little history alive as all evidence this place ever existed is wiped clean of the surface of the planet. Farewell old
