Fishing Gandy Bridge

It was a great stormy evening yesterday and my brother and I enjoyed fishing under the Gandy bridge and friendship trail. We did not catch much but the weather made the trip a delight anyway. We did see a few Tarpon roll there way under the bridge.

The Hullabaloo and all the the recent modifications worked splendidly and I am looking forward to the next fishing excursion.

One of the interesting things I experienced on this adventure was how friendly our fellow fishermen were. As we loaded our canoe into the water from the bridge support to return home some gentlemen in a ranger Flats boat who had just come under the bridge turned our way. They actually offered to tow us back to the foot of the bridge. I was amazed at their kind offer and we thanked them heartily but told them we were fine.

As we approached the foot of the bridge a gentleman who was wading with a bait net was just pulling in a load of very nice white bait and he turned to us and offered us the lot, to bad we were on our way to load up and leave. Tampa bay was a friendly place this evening and it sure did make us feel great.

  2. That really makes me feel like a success!

The lowly Cat Fish is a bit of a hassle to deal with but I always throw them back as healty as possible. They keep the bay clean and I am all for that.

    Thanks for the encouragement.
