Self Reliance

Folks who live like this have very little apprehension about hard economic times. Of course if the economy did die the roving bands of once civilized Americans would quickly strip any food from the property of anyone growing for their own needs. In the mean time this is in my mind such an appealing way to live. The freedom that comes with self reliance, next to no bills and very little indebtedness to commercial enterprises definitely makes for a more peaceful existence.
Jules Dervaes - "When you depend on other people you become powerless."

I do not by any means agree with the political and commercial movements associated with all this green stuff and I am disappointed that good ole subsistence living has been hijack by such. My interest is simply in the wisdom of understanding and being capable of utilizing the bounty that God has provided. Stewardship is what it is all about. If this were not true the logical alternative would be to use as many resources for you own pleasure that you could in your lifetime before its over and you cease to exist.
