Trust

Trust is invisible and is consciously given to everyone we come in contact with. Trust is a quantity and can be measured in precise amounts. Trust is hopeful and confident in the object of its focus. Trust can be built over time and brought down in seconds. Everyone uses trust and cannot survive without it.

When I think about my past and my experiences with trusting and being trusted I am able to make strong assertions about trust. The following are observations I trust are true about trusting.

The first person you learn not to trust is yourself. I have countless times let myself down and I cannot be trusted to do what is best for me.

I do not trust anyone anymore than I trust myself.

Carefully measure out the right amount of trust to be given to an individual and in situations of grave importance never give anymore trust than is absolutely necessary.

Use little responsibilities as an opportunity to build trust.

Do not accept a trust when it is not necessary.

Always acknowledge trust that you have broken and delicately seek to restore it.

Never trust anyone with safety and well being of your family when you can be present to teach and protect them yourself.

God the creator of everything that exists is worth of our total trust and never fails. “Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD
JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:” Isaiah 26:4

We all thrive in this life when we are trusted by those we respect. With God’s guidance we can truly be trustworthy.
