Voices
A voice is as unique to an individual as a finger print. Children’s voices are especially unique. In our earliest years it would seem that when communicating we focus much more on words and sentences and less on sounds. Little people have the most varied ways of saying even the simplest words or phrases. As we begin to master the words our attention turns to the sound of our voice as we say the words. We try to sound like others we look up to.
What if we all sounded more like we did when we were little and cared more about the message than the delivery? Think of all those great words that are a part of your family history. The words your parents remind you, you used to say that made them laugh. I can remember a few between my brother and I and they made life far more interesting.
lolocks = socks
nafagalgeographic = nationalgeographic
cyclemotor = motorcycle
whole of it = all of it
insterding = interesting
listrals = we still aren’t sure
Sometimes when we get it “wrong” it communicates in a far better way. Sometimes it is better to encourage what is unique over the standard translation.
