Flutter Field

One of dozens and dozens of "White Peacock Butterflies" that have suddenly appeared in the field behind our home.

To anyone passing by the extent of the gathering is not fully evident. You must pause and scan the area to fully realize what is happening in this small strip of vegetation. To walk along the edge of the drainage ditch where the grass and weeds are high brings many more butterflies aloft. They stay within a few feet of the ground and as they pass certain areas of ground more take wing and begin form small swirling groups. They are in the process of insuring the progression of their species into the coming year.
