Crashing Down
Yesterday there was great doings about the entrance of the bee house. In times past this usually occurred during a dividing of the hive. I was curious so I took a little trip up the aluminum ladder for a look-see. Peering into the hole I was immediately aware that a large portion of the comb was out of place. I did not know what had happened but I did know I would not be able to investigate further with so many bees still in residence.
This morning most of the bees were absent and I knew it was for good. I took the ladder trip again and was able to remove the house from the tree and take it out back to open. It was not long before I had removed the front panel and this is what my eyes beheld.
A portion of the carefully crafted comb had become to heavy and collapsed. I also notice the presence of many beetles and beetle larva busily devouring the remaining comb. I have seen the end of a few bee colonies and it is like witnessing a natural disaster in miniature. The equivalent of an entire village in ruins the population sent fleeing into the wilderness never to return.
What a monumental drama takes place around us every day with an oblivious human population blissfully unaware. The world functioning under God's orchestration in spite of everything. He is taking care of us all, moment by moment. He is teaching us with every triumph and disaster. He is working all things for the good of His children.
