First Priority at Tampa Bay Tech.

Way back in 2008 Scott Avriett invited me to hear plans for a new ministry bringing together churches, businesses and schools. Today First Priority is in more than five schools in the Tampa Bay area speaking the message of Jesus.

Today I was at Tampa Bay Tech with Scott, Shea Vosler and Mark Roberts where about 50 high school students chose to join us during their lunch period to hear a message from the Bible.

It has been an amazing experience for me to watch a ministry grow in our area from just a spark into what is has become  over five schools in just three short years. The simple fact is students are hearing the truth and that can make all the difference.

This is a ministry that is truly worthy of our support!

Mushroom!

Yesterdays rain made  a mushroom in the neighborhood very happy! Well it looked like a happy mushroom if a mushroom could experience happiness.

Two for One Squirrels

Today it happened Two squirrels in their zeal to consume the peanut butter applied to the box trap trigger found themselves in a jam! I love it when a plan comes together!

A Toledo Family Birthday

I was hired to record another Toledo family birthday party. This years theme was Willy Wonka! There was an entire room devoted to candy, and the kids were beside themselves.

There is always something for everyone at a Toledo party and this year they had an open grill by http://www.boizao.com/ it was delicious!

The kids at these parties must sleep like little bears mid winter when bed time comes.

Ferrari FF Preview Event Tampa Bay

A friend calls me Thursday says he would like me to shoulder his video camera for the unveiling of the Ferrari FF at Ferrari of Tampa Bay and once again I find myself in another world. They Come and Go.

Sometimes it takes a few years, sometimes a decade if you are stationary long enough. When you cycle through a number of people whom you have grow attached to, whether they be little ones who grow out of you, or piers who's life circumstances have move them out of fellowship with you. For as long as you live you lose.

The ones who give you meaning no matter how seemingly insignificant will be lost to you. You will be alone but not truly. The creator has always been there and can always be there. The true Father of us all when recognized and embraced not only is the true source of meaning in our lives, but the very One who brought meaning to all the fleeting connections who we lose over a lifetime.

He is also the one who holds the promise of an eternal reunion with all those we love. We all ache to hold closely so many whom we love . We are all ached for even by some of whom we may not even be aware. Now we live, we live now, moment by moment, and we love moment by moment. Every moment we chose to live in anger, fear or jealousy is a moment not lived in Love.

  No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:12

God is not limited by the passing of time. He is your only hope for the love you seek, both His perfect love and the love of others. You can not fight for love, love must be surrendered to!

Tampa Scooters

My friend Blake Conley has opened a scooter shop here in Tampa. He went to school and studied some music stuff for quite a while. He graduated got a scooter and then decided he like scooters and scooter repair so much he just up and started his own scooter shop. I admire him for that.

Box Trap "A Love Story"

I love this trap!

 

A trap is essentially a simple machine. It is built for the purpose of automatically capturing and keeping creatures that trip the triggering device while trying to obtain food. You set it, walk away and return at your leisure to see if there is a creature securely contained inside.

The box trap I constructed has been so successful for the purpose I designed it for that the sense of satisfaction I receive every time I find it occupied is just great! I am only using it to relocate squirrels and any other furry mammal that happen to be captured, but I am aware that if it ever came to it I could consistently put food on the table with one of these contraptions.

This morning just before church I peered out the window to see if the trap had been tripped but it was nowhere to be seen. I looked further and realized it had been moved. During the night a rat had set it off and my brother had moved it into a more secure location. As you can see in the video I let the rat go so I could set the trap before leaving for church. Ten minutes after setting it I had another squirrel, number twelve I believe.

I took it to church with me to let it go. Yes I thought about what it would be like to let it go in the church ala Ray Stevens. I know how much Jesus would laugh at the sight of his children running all over the room, but I am sure most people in the church do not have as gracious a sense of humor as my Jesus does so I just let it go near some big oaks trees. Top Bar Hive Modification

My top bar hive is a special case since the colony I placed in it was well established in a bird house to begin with. I had to insert the entire bird house into one end so I cut a hole in the back to allow easier access to the bars. Enjoy Jacob and Julia!

The concept is sweet and simple. I would liken it to a Subway but for pizza. You choose your dough (including gluten free)and move down a line of 40 toppings as an attendant assembles your pizza right before your eyes. They have one of those new fangled coke machines with the touch screen and over 120 flavor option. They also have adult beverages for those who enjoy beer and wine with their pizza.

For for desert they have gelato in over 10 varieties! They kids loved it!
