A Box Trap Of My Very Own

four days ago I started setting out a small havahart trap, you see we are over run with squirrels. I caught and relocated five in two days but I was not happy with the fact that many of the squirrels were to big for the trap and kept escaping capture. That is when I decided I needed a bigger trap. Homedepot had a havahart 1030 that would do the job for $35 but I was reluctant to part with the money. I decided I would build my own trap with scraps of lumber and wire that up until now were just taking up space. Three days later and shabang!

Box Trap for Squirrels

I set it today and guess what? I caught a squirrel in no time!

Box Trap for Squirrels

I reset the trap and headed to church for AWANA which is like being in a building full of large squirrels running around every where and crawling all over you. I returned  home to see the trap sprung and yet another hapless squirrel who undoubtedly was contemplating the genius behind this diabolical device in which it now found itself in.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.
(Ecc 1:9-11)

There are few things more gratifying than identifying a problem, designing a solution and finally constructing a working device that solves the aforementioned problem. Thank God that He made us in His image and with a creative mind like His. Always remember that we never create anything. We only reassemble what out Father in heaven has created. The Glory for everything belongs to God and God belongs to those who know Him as Father.

Bee Hive Relocated To Top Bar!

Bee Relocation
I relocated the Bees in the bird house today. It was anything but smooth. The bees were more than patient with me and I was only stung about five times. The one one my upper eye lid was the most uncomfortable.
Bee Relocation
The bees are beautiful and their work never ceases to amaze me! The video below will show you almost the entire relocation process. I am very relieved to have them in the Top Bar Hive and hope they do well with all the new space they have to grow.

They began to use their new front door very quickly and this gives me hope they will survive. Time will tell!

STF has started the new season of AWANA. Come begin committing God’s Word to memory with us here in South Tampa and never be without the whole armor of God!

03

It promises to be a very fruitful year of setting ourselves free.

Then said Jesus to those who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Journey To Georgetown Lagoon

Journey to Georgetown Lagoon

Now that the little engine is up and running we hit the water for an adventure.

Journey to Georgetown Lagoon

Journey to Georgetown LagoonJourney to Georgetown LagoonJourney to Georgetown Lagoon

We explored two islands on our way to the lagoon. When we got to the lagoon everyone went swimming and then scurried around collecting shells and little sea creatures.

We ate a delicious lunch at the second island on the way back!

What a great day on the bay! Thank you for coming along!

Three years ago along part of this route I was blessed to meet a friendly manatee :)

Outboard Motor Maintenance

About three years ago I purchased a 5hp Nissan motor for a canoe we have had for years. This year it began to stall minutes after I would accelerate. I could have taken it to someone who knows what they are doing and get paid handsomely for such or I could blunder around myself and save a “boat load” of money. I chose blundering around.

I removed the carburetor of the little Nissan four stroke model NSF5A2. and I soaked it in sea foam over night!

I also removed the fuel pump mostly out of curiosity all the while thinking this whole operation was going to be a disaster. After replacing the spark plug when the maiden voyaged failed everything worked fine and my problem was fixed! There is nothing like being self-reliant as long as you keep in mind that none of truly are. This is a time in history when we all need to pull our own weight and rebuff the parasitic ways that are destroying our country and robbing so many of the rewards of hard work and personal achievement.

This little engine has made quite a few delightful adventures possible. here is one of my favorite ones.

Harry Potter Changed My Life And I Have No Way To Deal With It!

We all need something to believe in. For some it is belief in nothing (which has to be something to have it’s own word describing it), for others it is self, for still others a loving creator and then there is Harry Potter!

You Know It’s Coming

You know the financial collapse is inevitable, you just cannot predict what will be the lynch pin. One hit after another followed by more borrowing and spending. We are living an economic fantasy. Some of us have very little and worse more of us have given our lives over to credit card companies and banks.

This is an opportunity to return to a real life where people matter more than things. Do not rely on the government, rely on each other. Be willing to give up everything and rely on God for your daily bread. Love your neighbor and love God with all your heart. America’s obesity problem is almost over and if we do not panic we will be healthier than ever when we come out on the other side!

God is Love

They wanted to believe their lives have meaning. They wanted their relationships to be more than chemical reactions. They wanted to believe their was true love, so the great grandchildren of the ape turned their backs on evolution and invented God.

They strove to live by their God's morality and to give their lives for one another. They made up stories of how they were more than a chemical consciousness and would go on forever in spirit after their body ceased to function. The truly educated ones, the ones with real intelligence, were not fooled by this delusion.

They continued to live in the freedom of a life without meaning. At liberty, at least in their own enlightened minds to live a guiltless existence secure in the knowledge that there was no right or wrong, no absolute truth and no final judgment.

The only evil thing for them was faith in God. The only thing to be hated the inventors of God. In the end just as something had come from nothing. Something returned to nothing and the hairless apes were no more.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
(Psa 53:1-3)

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. (1Jn 4:16-21)

Kelby Training

00

I spent the day at the colossal Orange County Convention Center. I was taken along for the ride by some photoshopping friends of mine. Scott Kelby of Kelby Training was leading one of his Light it, Shoot it, Retouch it, live events.

01 02

It was very practical and informative. I especially enjoyed the live photo shoot complete with different lighting arrangements. The photoshop retouching of the captured images was full of helpful processes and tips. Kelby has a real easy way about him and makes the technical subject very understandable to even a beginner.

Fiddler Crab Warriors

Mud Walk Aug. 2, 2011

Had a great mud walk today with some veteran walkers. There was an extra helping of wild life about the place and that was a real treat.

Mud Walk Aug. 2, 2011

There was an abundance of one of my favorite creations. Fiddler crabs were out in force. Like armies of Shogun Warriors they were patrolling their vast mud flat holdings. We strode among them like giants in the land and they fled before us in terror. Just do not corner them or they will strike their fiercest pose.

Mud Walk Aug. 2, 2011

A fiddler crab, sometimes known as a calling crab, may be any of approximately 100 species of semi-terrestrial marine crabs which make up the genus Uca.[1] As members of the family Ocypodidae, fiddler crabs are most closely related to the ghost crabs of the genus Ocypode. This entire group is composed of small crabs – the largest being slightly over two inches across. Fiddler crabs are found along sea beaches and brackish inter-tidal mud flats, lagoons and swamps.

I have to laugh every time at how drunk with power I feel as they scatter at the mere sight of me on the horizon. If they only knew I meant them no harm I could sit down in the sand and have them gather around in massive numbers.

America Is Spent

We are spending trillions we do not have, how can this end well? The president, liberal democrats and liberal republicans solution you may ask? Take more money from the American who have been responsible enough to have real wealth while spending even more. This is a blindingly disastrous course. Is it to late or is America ready to get serious and start living within our means no matter what we have to give up? The alternative is the end of the United States as a free country.
