infatuation

Funny thing about infatuation. An individual never really knows the extent of it until an expectation is not met. When the object of the infatuation is not in step with the anticipations of the infatuated, watch out. When this disruption occurs the full impact of secret and unexpressed  affections cause what can be described as an emotional cave in. This occurrence causes an imbalance which demands action. The action taken can bring a return to equilibrium or further imbalance.

Then you get a good night sleep and forget it ever happened.

What is most important to understand is the difference between infatuation and true love.

  • infatuation wants to possess
  • Love gives away
  • infatuation comes and goes
  • Love never fails
  • infatuation see the surface
  • Love sees the depths
  • infatuation fears abandonment
  • Love fears nothing
  • infatuation lies
  • Love tells the truth
  • infatuation is human
  • God is love
We are all continually infatuated with so many things and so many people so much of the time. The saving grace of this condition is the ability through Jesus to transform our infatuations into true Love!

Someone’s In The Kitchen

The church I attend has been doing video spots for announcements for a while now. The man behind the magic recently obtained a Canon 60d and we used it to shoot a segment in the kitchen. It work very well!

Sony PCM-M10 digital audio recorder review.

sony PCM-M10

I have been using a Samson Zoom H2 recorder for a couple of years now with good results but for a few reasons have decided to get this as a replacement.
sony PCM-M10sony PCM-M10
  1. Improved sound quality (the h2 was great but the Sony is a bit better).
  2. Battery life: The Sony claims to have a battery life using 2AA that would make it the longest running recorder on the market today.
  3. Manuel record level adjustment while recording using a wheel located on the side of the device.
  4. It has a 5 second pre-record buffer.
  5. A small speaker to preview audio.
The Sony PCM-M10 does not disappoint on almost all counts except the preview speaker. The speaker works but is very weak just as many of the reviews I read on the net suggested. I am very pleased with the build quality and sound quality.  Beside the weak preview speaker I have only one other complaint. The bottom of the unit is rounded and makes it hard to stand on end without it falling.

I am very pleased so far with this device!

Life on the streets

Today I hit the streets with a couple of little friends. We went in search of a Turkey a friend of mine said he saw while driving. We wandered around old warehouses and walked the railroad tracks and pretty much lived the life of vagrants for a hour or so.

01

There are a lot of people around our part of town who have chosen to live on the streets. They beg for money in the highway medians and find empty lots with high weeds and clumps of trees to make little camps.

03

02

We had a good time walking the streets and roaming around the hidden lots. We walked and talked and stopped at a convenience store for some snacks.

04

There are all kinds of secret places in every neighborhood. Places where the outcasts hide away from society at large and places where children build secret forts for their secret clubs. You should take a walk sometime in your neighborhood and poke around where the weeds grow high. Just be vigilant and ready to do battle there is danger sure enough. The people on the streets are not there by accident. They do not play well with others!

Clothes line

The dryer is on the fritz so I strung up a clothes line. I think most kids today would have no idea what you meant if you said clothes line. Strangely once the line was hung with clothes it gave me a real feeling of well being. I do not think I can fully explain it but clothes lines are a peaceful thing in my mind.

Rescued Chilean miners sponsored by Oakley?

I was watching a few of the miners being rescued this afternoon when I noticed one of the women waiting for her loved one wearing what looked like very expensive glasses. I then began to notice that just about everyone I saw had on pricey sun glasses. This was strange to me because it was not like the miners were emerging after weeks of being in complete darkness.I knew something had to be up when the miners started popping out of the pipe with Oakley's on even after the sun had set. They had to have taken them down the pipe ahead of time and I am wondering if they paid the miners money to wear the $160 glasses.

The sacred made profane. All in all I found it repulsive that this event was so exploited in so many ways but pimping sunglasses to the entire world using trapped miners is above and beyond crude. I would have much rather seen joy in the eyes of those men as they were literally brought back from the grave.  The only way I can see this as even slightly acceptable  is if the entire thing was a stunt by Oakley from the very beginning! Considering this post it is working.

At the risk of insulting all those status seeking wannabes who are sure that plopping down the ridiculous cash for the glasses their hero's get paid to wear will bring them the same benefits in life and not just make them look like desperate inferior human being grasping at the smallest sliver of fame  I am going to have  to say anyone who would pay over $50 for sun glasses is a sucker:)

Welcome home fellows we are overjoyed you are back on the surface where you belong and we are amazed by all the truly skillful folks who will never get as much press and Oakley will but in fact are the true heroes in this fiasco.

Even the liberal relativist media had something to say.
