I had a comment about Crip Chick by storminstaffs on this blog suggesting that the chick might have a condition call splayed leg. I was delighted to find that their was a potential fix posted to http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/index.php and have implemented the procedure. Thanks a bunch for the info I sure hope it works!

Chicks Day 10: Small Coop
I have completed one of a few coops I will be making to facilitate the departure of the larger portions of these chicks. This one is a smaller one meant to go in a larger enclosure.

Chicks Day 7: We Have Wings!
It is turning into a flapping good time around here. Check out the chicks in the run this morning.
To all those tender hearted little people (Julia this is you) who are concerned about Crip Chick she is still in the game. She is trying to keep up and has a lot of fight.
Here is a video that explains how hatcheries work!
How it's made you are a super duper show!

Chicks Day 6
The factor that gave me the confidence to finally order 25 chicks from McMurray was knowing my friend Dave was willing to have some of the laying hens in his possession. So today he came over and gathered up his share. 2 Leg horns, 2 Black Star and 2 Red Star which makes 6 less chicken rear ends pooping.
We bagged his six and he whisked them away.

Chicks Day 5
Peep, peep, peep all the time peep.
The chicks all get together is a fluffy warm pile when they sleep at night.
They go from fighting over food and generally treating each other like 3 year olds on a play ground to all cuddly and warm when the dark of night falls.
They are so perky I have started putting them out back in the chicken run.

Chicks Day 3
All is well with the chicks but you have got to know if you ever get a box load they poop a lot !
I have them out back right now and they love the dirt and the grass. They are all excited running around scratching and rolling.
Yesterday we had a bunch of visitors who all really enjoyed holding the chicks. I was not sure how well they would hold up to all the handling but the were fine. I think they will be more tame the more they are handled but that might just be wishful thinking.

Chicks Day 2
The chicks are up bright and early and they are getting frisky! Yesterday they had a few visitors who were oohing and aahing.
One of the girls was hold this chick and it was so comfortable it went to sleep.
Totally relaxed.
They all cuddle up at night and lay flat on their bellies.

The Chicks Have Arrived!
The post office called the chick are here! Check it out but be warned there is more in this video than cute fluffy chicks. Every day in the world about 250,000 - 300,000 people die per day including days when people go to pick up chicks from the post office.

Mud Walk No Chicks Today
Had a real great time today. I was given the opportunity to spend time with three girls I have always loved dearly. So I took them on a most miserable adventure, which we all completely enjoyed. Some times the Lord gives you something you desire sometimes He gives you the desire for something. The best of all is when the two are one and the same.
God rewards the anticipator the one who waits endlessly. God uses the passing of time to cause abandon in the heart of those who desire to be his dear children and as soon as you give up hope He lavishly rewards. Jehovah is about relationship. First He draws you close to Him and then He draw others close to you.
Thank you Father for the unexpected blessing.
The chicks did not arrive in the mail today. perhaps tomorrow.

Mud Walking Before Back To School
I went mud walking this morning with a couple of little men. Upper Tampa Bay Park was in rare form. Very lush with all the rain we have been having of late!
There were quite a few delightful scenes for my Canon sd960 to record and record it did with my finger pushing the button time and again.
Cade spotted a Salt March Snake almost as soon as we hit the first mud flat.
We saw the same snake an hour later in the same place on our way back to the car.
Cade was a bit skittish on the way out but managed his fear and discomfort well enough to make it all the way.
Mikhail was hard to keep up with and became one with the mud.
Here are few images of the snake taken on the trip back.
A palmetto bug joined the boys for lunch and really liked Mikhail’s sandwich! Thanks for coming along fellows I really enjoyed it.
Anyone wants to go before school starts again email me or give me a ring. It can be arranged.

Miss Maureen’s Theater Camp
Today just before noon, at the request of Pirate “Billy Bones” I attended a production of Treasure Island directed by Maureen Patrick at the Friday Morning Musicale. It was a simple delight! Here is a highlight reel.
Here is the charming little theater where the proceedings took place.
Billy Bones himself the very friend who invited me to the production.
An all around great job everyone. Thank you for your hard work.

Beetastrophy
Something has happened in the bee hive. Hundreds of the bees have fallen to the ground dead.
The hive has grown over the months to at least five times it’s original size. Now the colony seems to be falling apart.
It will be interesting to see if they return in the future.
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works? My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Boyd’s Clocks Now Two Locations
I helped move some clocks from Boyd’s clock service center and warehouse at 610 South Armenia Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609 to a new store front they are adding to their time keeping empire on 4343 West Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33609-2126.
We transported a bunch of nice clocks in their collection over to the storefront including a few impressive grandfather clocks.
The workshop and warehouse had all kinds of magical pieces of time machines just about everywhere you turn.
There are a few different work stations with tools, gears and scraps of paper with jotted notes at different places in the room.
At the new store front the display case is now up and the stocking continues.
All this under the watchful eye of Mrs. Boyd herself. I enjoyed being a small part of this little chapter in the Boyd history. We are all always being a part of someone history not just our own.
