Asleep On A Pepper

liz-pepper

I was checking the mobile vegetable garden tonight and layed eyes on this little brown anole sleeping atop one of the Green Bell Peppers! She looked quite comfortable and the sight gave me a calm and comforting feeling!

Be of good cheer whoever you are. It is quite possible there are lizards sleeping just outside.

Deactivating Facebook

I have been using facebook for several months now and found it fascinating. I decided tonight to get rid of it at least as much as I possibly could. Here is the process such as it is. You will note the word deactivate is the only option you have.

Step 1.

Go to your account and select deactivate account at the bottom.

Deactivating facebook

Step 2.

You must choose a reason for deactivation to proceed and will be presented with a randomly generated list of people who face book says will miss you.

Deactivating facebook

Step 3.

Type the screwy text in the box and hit submit.

Deactivating facebook

Step 4.

Receive and email the text of which make you quickly realize you have done little more than log out and begs the question just how long the information in your account remains to be accessed later.

Deactivating facebook

The short and sweet of my decision is this. The service facebook provides no matter how interesting is in fact far to intrusive. They are to me complete strangers who have found an ingenuous way to collect comprehensive information about every citizen of the world who chooses to partake in their network the most objectionable of which is your relationships with the people you know, no matter how intimate. Remember I do not know a single individual from the facebook team or the organizations who will have access to my info. I find this too troubling to continue using facebook.

The slightly longer version is this. On a more personal level I began to find the information about my friends and acquaintances  to be a bit overwhelming. I was privy to conversation I would never under normal circumstances have known took place. The individuals having the conversation understood they had given consent for all their friends to view them but I could not shake the awareness that they did not have me in mind when posting them. The most disturbing aspects of this network to me was seeing younger folks I know in a new and more negative light. reading the clumsy details silly desires and reading uncharacteristic profanity. The creepiest was seeing girls I know who are just kids in my eyes photographing themselves in a provocative manner and how many times can you abide those images of the fake face lick. Anyway I have had enough of the yucky stuff I have learned and am going to return to knowing people for who they want me to know them as in person.

I am doing more than deactivating I am deleting it here which will take 14 days.

What is Real?

reality and the mind

Reality and the minds perception of reality are very rarely the same. The state of things as we focus our thinking on them is much more like the reflection of things as the really are but on the surface of rippling water. We tell ourselves that things are as we desire them to be. We tend to convince ourselves that our lives will go just as we wish them to go. There is no better example of this than when a person becomes infatuated with someone. Suddenly you believe everything they do is wonderful. You believe that all their motivations are righteous because you want them.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.                           (2Pe 1:2-11)

It is not possible to truly live in reality without dedicating your thoughts to the invisible spiritual realm. You cannot truly live save you are living out the Word of God through your life. If you choose to see things with your own eyes you are blind and you will never cease to fall time after time. The abundant life is lived as an expression of our devotion to our Father in heaven!

Counting loss gain!

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Use SD cards in CF card devices.

SD-CF II : SD to CF Type II Adapter (Supports SDHC)
Found this very handy SD to CF card converter and it is working great for my Nikon D200. I no longer have to buy CF and SD cards for multiple devices. It is SD from now on.

Pulling Putrid Island.

My brother and I went fishing again. We went exploring way back into the mangroves and discovered a huge floating pile of stinking something. Still not sure what it was but we decided to drag it out in to the bay and set it free.

Big Red Fish Grin!

Scott my good friend, my brother and I went on a high tide fishing trip to Picnic Island today. Well lets skip any unnecessary chatter and just get right to the point. I hooked a great big Red Fish and I am so happy about it. The fish and I looked deep into each others eyes and them I lowered it over the side and watched it swim away home.

Picnic Island Red Fish

Hey to all you people I know so well, catching this big fish has made me think of how much I love you.

Your Employer

Who you work for has a profound affect on your everyday life. I have really been giving some thought to this fact. I was musing this morning about Bosses and their limits of their control over employees in our fair country. See if this sound accurate.

Your average all American business.

  • An employer has the power to hire and fire you.
  • You have the freedom to leave and look for work elsewhere anytime.
  • An employer does not have access to your bank account.
  • You can do with your pay as you please your boss has no say.
  • An employer cannot take anything you own.
  • Your income is only limited by you skill and hard work.

The Government as your employer.

  • The government has the power to assign you a task.
  • Everything you do will be by permission from the government.
  • The government gives and takes what they determines to be fair.
  • The government dictates what is healthy and safe for you to consume.
  • The government can take your property and your freedom if you resist.
  • You will have what the government decides to give you.

Huge government taking responsibility to meet all your needs just will not work folks. You have got to get up and do what it takes to provide for yourself no matter how much the ever expanding government takes from your earnings. You have got support yourself and help your neighbor.

It has never been more clear that no matter their party affiliation everyone in Washington is far more interest in expanding their chosen career in politics to new more immense proportion. They are bent on getting your money to fund their schemes. They are not public servants dedicated to representing those who elect them but opportunists determined to live in the bizarre reality that is Washington D.C. They must be replace with folks willing to serve their constituents for a prescribed term and then return to live in the country under the results of their service as citizens in a free market system.
