Observations Made In May 09

Thoughts have been growing like weeds in the fertile soil that is my brain matter this month of May. These thoughts have have grown from the manure deposited by the circumstances in my life and others that I have observed, and I am going to attempt to describe them in single sentences with a minimum of detail so as not to cause any incrimination most importantly to myself.

  • You cannot save money by spending money no matter what the advertisement says.
  • If you habitually put yourself first you will quickly have only yourself to keep you company.
  • If you spend all your time in the pursuit of happiness you will rarely experience that fleeting state, but joy is your frequent companion when you spend your time walking with the Lord.
  • Jesus spent a lot of time on the water in the company of fishermen; therefore it is a sin not to go fishing regularly.
  • 7 out of every ten people who get married do not know what it is and are miserable.
  • I am part of a church that is an absolute delight to me.
  • God blesses the single parent who gives Him influence in their lives.
  • If you have an air compressor that runs on 12volts and a tire plug kit a flat caused by punctures not in the side wall and smaller than a quarter inch will never cause you to be stranded as long as your battery does not drain in the process of inflating the repaired tire.
  • Those with a common touch only produce common results it is uncommon effort and expectations that yield satisfying outcomes.
  • Being cold, wet and far from home is character building and can be thoroughly enjoyed so you should be so on purpose every so often.

Clip on wide angle rear view mirror!

This is the K source RM010 I purchased from Advance Auto Parts. It increases your field of view dramatically. It was under $11.00 and works so well I had to tell you all about it.

NIT-NER ( the Tokay Gecko)

tokay

The gieco Gecko he ain’t  and he is creeping all over and around the home of one of my pet families from church. I had one of these as a pet in my younger days and it ranks as one of the most vicious creatures I have ever wrangled.

What they discovered upon researching on line was they had a Tokay Gecko on their hands. Make sure you listen to the call of the gecko.

A big thanks to the family for posting this story on Facebook and bring pure Gecko joy to my heart. Nit-Ner may you live long and continue to bring your own special brand of companionship to your new found friends!

Sunday Afternoon was spent with friends from church who moved out of town about a year ago. We do not get to see them very much these days because they live a bit far to attend STF as they once did. The property they bought gives them the luxury of having a little farm of sorts and their collection of entertaining animals is growing.

Big Cat Adventures with Bill Carl

Fishing North West Gandy

Early this morning Bill Carl and I went fishing. Bill Carl caught more Cat Fish in a two hour period than I would have believed possible. It took plenty of courage and fortitude to endure such a turn of events. Bill kept on fishing in the hopes of hooking more quality species!

Fishing the Culbreth Flats

This afternoon it was Scott that got me out on the water and good thing he did. We found our bait and caught good fish!

 Fishing the Culbreth flats

The first fish of the afternoon was this fine Spanish Mackerel.

Then Scott catches this big Trout which he would not stop cuddling.

Fishing the Culbreth flats

Yep Scott loves him some Trout notice how he gently cradles the fish for me to snap a picture. This was a really large Trout but it was so wild in the boat we did not really get a proper shot.

Here is a proper shot of the Trout I caught!

Aisha Mohamed Atif

I just received word from a 24 year old orphan girl living in the Sudan whose evil stepmother is planning to rob her of her inheritance. She has randomly chosen me from everyone with an internet connection on the planet to be the trustee of her 8.5 million fortune. She is going to give me 20% roughly 1,700,000 dollars before taxes and she is going to "settle down" with me.

Thought you all might like to know that I am now rich, and warn you that you may see me accompanied by 24 year old Sudanese Orphan around town. Now let me just email her back and give her that personal info she need to get the process started!

Hello Dear

I know that this mail might come to you as a surprise because you don't know me and I don't know you too. My name is Aisha Mohamed Atif , I am 24 years old girl and an orphan from Sudan. My late father Mr Mohamed Atif was the deputy general manager with CNPC oil company at Khartoum refinery in Sudan. My late father was killed alongside with my beloved mother and our family house burnt down by the rebels during the last crisis in my country when Janjaweed militant came to our house, and this was what sent me away from my country to Burkina Faso as I made my escape only by God's special grace. You can read more about my country in the bbc news(http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6469857.stm)

I am constrained to contact you because of the maltreatment which I am receiving from my step mother. She planned to take away all my late father's treasury and properties from me since the unexpected death of my beloved Father. Meanwhile I wanted to travel to Europe, but she hide away my international passport and other valuable documents. Luckily she did not discover where I kept my father's File which contained important documents. Now I am presently staying in the Mission in Burkina Faso. I am seeking for long term relationship and investment assistance. My father of blessed memory deposited the sum of US$ 8.5 Million in one bank in Burkina Faso with my name as the next of kin. I had contacted the Bank to clear the deposit but the Branch Manager told me that being a refugee, my status according to the local law does not authorize me to carry out the operation. However, he advised me to provide a trustee who will stand on my behalf. I had wanted to inform my stepmother about this deposit but I am afraid that she will not offer me anything after the release of the money.

Therefore, I decide to seek for your help in transferring the money into your bank account while I will relocate to your country and settle down with you. As you indicated your interest to help me I will give you the account number and the contact of the bank where my late beloved father deposited the money with my name as the next of kin. It is my intention to compensate you with 20% of the total money for your assistance and the balance shall be my investment in any profitable venture which you will recommend to me as have no any idea about foreign investment. Please all communications should be through this email address only for confidential purposes.

Thanking you a lot in anticipation of your quick response. I will send you details in my next email for you to know me well.

I am waiting for your reply,
Best regards,
Miss Aisha Mohamed.

Buddy Brew World Headquarters!

Buddy Brew World Headquarters

I visited Buddy Brew Coffee world headquarters recently and was treated to a behind the scenes tour. I was also given the story of Buddy Brew’s beginnings.

My interest was really peaked when Dave Ward posted photos of his new Diedrich roasting machine “Big Red”. The sounds, the sights and the smells were fantastic.

Buddy Brew World Headquaters

Roasting is definitely a science and Dave was like a mad scientist at the controls.

Totally fun operation! Thanks you two for giving me the grand tour!

FisherMomma

FisherMomma

Went on an afternoon fishing trip yesterday and took mom. I think it has been decades since she went fishing.

FisherMomma

It was a bit windy but we drove over the Gandy and put in on the north side where the wind was calmed by the mangrove trees. The water was very clear and had a lovely emerald green glow. I was also thrill to find that the herring were plentiful on the flats. I was able to cast the net and get ample bait of a good size.

FisherMomma

I was hoping to catch more fish on the poles than we did but we did each catch Speckled Trout!

Morning Cruise Down Bayshore

I recently installed a Hidden Hitch on the GoBox sos I could haul the canoe on a trailer. What a super hitch! I borrow Bill Carl’s trailer loaded up the Hullabaloo and went to Ballast Point Park.

gt

Everything worked very well and before the morning was over I had traveled over twelve miles round trip with the little 6hp Nissan outboard sipping fuel and the good ole canoe bobbing along!
